"Every person cannot be different," the Child
said to The Prophet.
"Why not, Child?"
"Because?"
"Because what, Child? Tell me what you're thinking. I
don't understand because."
"Are you trying to tell me that every person is
special?" The Child replied.
The Prophet shook with laughter.
"Why is that so impossible for you to believe, Child?"
"But I thought you said no one is an island."
"No, I didn't tell you that. You have come to that
conclusion on the journey," The Prophet said.
"Oh yeah. I forgot about that."
"Child, are the days of the year the same?"
"No, Prophet. The name of the days repeats itself, but
each day is different."
"And the months?"
"Each month is different," answered the Child.
"And the years?"
"You already know the answer, Prophet. Each year is
different too," the Child said with some degree of frustration and began
to twirl and twirl on the lily pad. Suddenly, a smile lit upon her face.
"I see it, Prophet, I see it! The Child exclaimed
excitedly as she twirled.
"What do you see Child?"
"Every person is different. We are unique and
wonderfully made. That's what makes us
so valuable. Wow!"
Grunts of laughter like sounds coming from a volcano
erupted out of the Prophet.
"I like that, Child," said The Prophet between
spurts of laughter. "You're learning."
Have a nice weekend everyone.
Shalom,
Pat Garcia
Yes, in our uniqueness are we all different. I believe that every single thing that God has created is different. There are trees, they are all trees, yet there are thousands of different varieties, and even within the same variety, each one is different, whether it is where the grow or when they sprouted, God gave each thing its own individuality. Yes, child, we are all special! Thank you, Pat. Love you!
ReplyDeleteMy Dear,
DeleteAnd isn't nice to know that each individual is unique. Each person has its own set of fingerprints that cannot be copied. It is amazing just how special we are made. Thank you for coming by.
Shalom,
Patricia
I'm chuckling as I want to be like the little child... WHYYYY must everything change. I like stable and consistent! However, you are so correct. as everything does change. It helps us grow to become better people too. Thanks for your fun story.
ReplyDeleteHi My Dear Friend,
DeleteYou cannot imagine how often I was that little child rebelling against change. There are still times when I catch myself falling into that state of rebellion and I have to re group and find out why. Thank you so much for coming by.
Shalom,
Patricia
I like writing post with alternating dialog as well. Just visiting my immediate neighbors on the A-Z list.

ReplyDeleteGood morning,

Learning is difficult, frustrating, fun, new, old, so many things. I love how this tiny story captured so many different emotions. Enjoying this child's journey with the Prophet. Great job Pat.
ReplyDeleteMy Dear,
DeleteThank you. You're so right about learning. It is never easy and it calls out the challenge to conquer. It is up to us to accept this challenge and move beyond our fears to conquer whatever our call is.
Shalom,
Patricia
That's such an amazing lesson from the Prophet.
