Good Morning, EVERYONE!
Welcome to our fifth IWSG Day of the year, 2023.
IWSG is a writers' support group created and led by Alex Cavanaugh.
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It's a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
This group is an immense help to many of us who do not mind sharing our insecurities and successes or giving others encouragement and support.
So, if you are interested and would like to join, the link below will lead you directly to us.

The awesome co-hosts for the May 3 posting of the IWSG are Joylene Nowell Butler, Ronel Janse van Vuuren, Meka James, Diane Burton, Victoria Marie Lees, and M Louise Barbour!
Submissions: None for this month.
GROWING THROUGH MY CHARACTERS
I look forward to every story I write because I know I will get to know my characters in a depth that I had not expected. It's a level where they are no longer descriptions on an index card written out of my head knowledge of them, but they receive life as we commune together. In many ways, it is an art of knowing myself.
Have a nice month of May, everyone, and be safe.
Shalom shalom

That's awesome that you really get to know your characters so well when you're writing. Happy writing this month!
ReplyDeleteArt of knowing yourself - nice!
ReplyDeleteLove this. Our characters are indeed a part of us!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good way of looking at it. Getting to know my characters is a privilege, not to mention fun. Happy IWSG Day, Pat.
ReplyDeleteHello Pat! It is a beautiful thought of growing through/with your characters. They always come alive for me.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there's an art to knowing yourself, and that writers go about it through their stories and the people in them.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best answers that inspire me to go write something!
